Instrumentation Technician

Location: 12-3170 Ridgeway Dr. Mississauga, Ontario

Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation Engineering/Automation Engineering, or a related technical field.

Experience: 5+ Years

 

JOB DESCRIPTION:

General Duties 
The core function of this role is to ensure the optimal performance and reliability of critical instrumentation equipment. You will:
• Adjust, inspect, and evaluate process performance and equipment to optimize efficiency and effectiveness in accordance with established procedures.
• Perform calibration, verification, and troubleshooting of instruments such as chlorine analyzers, pressure and flow transmitters, and various chemical/process equipment used in water and wastewater facilities.
• Carry out various test procedures required to monitor equipment conditions.
• Utilize and maintain proficiency in embedded maintenance software programs for water, wastewater treatment and process equipment.

Qualification & Expertise
To excel in this role, you must meet the following requirements:
• Education: Degree in Industrial Instrumentation/Automation, or related field.
• Experience: A minimum of 5 years of demonstrated experience in instrumentation, calibration, field service, and maintenance roles.
• Technical License (Preferred): Possession of a Valid Provincial Instrumentation & Control Technician 447A License (or equivalent certification allowing work in Canada) is highly preferred and considered a significant asset.
• Soft Skills: Excellent Communication Skills with strong command over English language.
• Candidate should be physically in Canada and must possess Valid Canadian Work Permit.

Core Technical Skills
• Strong technical expertise in process instrumentation including flow technologies, gas detection and analytical measurement.
• Must have experience in pneumatics, hydraulics, electronics, and instrumentation and controls equipment.
• Proficiency with diagnostic equipment and the interpretation of technical drawings and manuals.
• Maintenance Knowledge: Proven experience in calibration, testing, troubleshooting, repair, and predictive and preventative maintenance duties for instrumentation in:
• Water, wastewater treatment & outstation installations
• OR Large industrial plants (manufacturing/utilities).
